MISSISSIPPI GOLF ASSOCIATION REVEALS NEW LOGO, BRANDING AHEAD OF 2024 SEASON
February 10, 2024
PEARL, Miss. — The Mississippi Golf Association has revealed a new look for 2024 and beyond.
The Association worked alongside Nashville-based artist, Matt Lehman, to develop a logo and brand that not only identifies the MGA but tells a story of the sport and the great state of Mississippi.
The Magnolia flower is not only the heart of our new branding, but also our state. Combining the flower with a golf ball, the logo also demonstrates the 'Gold Standard' the MGA holds itself to. Lastly, drawing from the state flag, we utilize a red, navy, gold and white color scheme as we are prideful of who we are and where we come from.
“I am extremely excited about the re-brand,” MGA Executive Director, Carter Page said. “To unveil a logo that not only represents Mississippi well but can be recognized across the game of golf and beyond as genuinely ours is something that we are all excited and prideful about.
A lot of time and effort went into this project when we began early last year and there are so many people that had a major hand in ensuring it was successful. We wanted something new, fresh, recognizable and representative of our state and I think we accomplished just that.
Working with the talents of Matt Lehman through the process was exciting and very rewarding and I truly hope this logo is something that our members, clubs and players wear with pride.”
The re-brand comes just in time for the Association’s centennial in 2025. Alongside the growth of the game within the Magnolia State, the re-brand draws on the past while offering a strong beacon of strength for the MGA’s future as both it and the state of Mississippi continue to grow and prosper.
“As we come up on the celebration of the Mississippi Golf Association’s centennial,” Page said. “I believe we are making strides to ensure our continued growth and success for the next 100 years.”
Merchandise featuring the re-brand will be available soon through missgolf.org. All proceeds go towards growing the game of golf in Mississippi as well as funding the MGA’s foundation and scholarship opportunities for junior golfers.
