How do I Get in to Junior Golf?

Are you interested in Junior Golf and need some more information on where to begin? Start looking here for opportunities to Get In To the Game. Our association will continue to update this page as we learn about new opportunities at our MGA Member Clubs. If you have any questions or need more details just give us a call, 601-939-1131.

1. Check out Member Clubs in your Area
Always good to look in your area for summer camps or local PGA Professionals who provide lessons or camps for Junior Golfers.

2. Register for an MJGA Membership
If you are looking for a way to get more involved, consider a membership with the Mississippi Junior Golf Association. A great way to stay connected through emails and monthly notifications of what is happening in golf in Mississippi. This membership will also fulfill the eligibility requirement to play in the Mississippi Junior Amateur, be included in the points race for the Player of the Year honor and invitations to Junior Cup Teams and BankPlus Sanderson Farms Junior Pro Am.

Your junior golfer will also receive a GHIN Handicap membership to begin establishing a handicap. A golf handicap will be useful when applying to play in national championships and for collegiate golf consideration. For full details on the MJGA and Membership - Click Here.

3. Try a Local Junior Tournament
Check out the BankPlus Junior Golf Tour. There are tournaments for multiple age divisions for girls and boys ages 6-18. The Mississippi Junior Golf Association travels the entire state hosting tournaments for all. For a complete list of MJGA tournaments during this golf season - Click Here. 4. US Kids Regional Tournaments
Look into the Mississippi US Kids Local Tours. These one day tournaments are a great place for new golfers who are still learning the game. Young players are encouraged to have caddies to assist them throughout the round. See what is coming to your area or what is close enough for you to travel to.

Mississippi Junior Golf Association Player's Creed

MJGA Participants will play by the rules governing play set by the MJGA Tournament Committee. All Players are responsible for protecting the integrity of the game and the competitiveness of MJGA Tournaments. All players should leave the course in better shape when they leave, than when they arrived. Please be considerate of your fellow competitors and notify an MJGA Tournament Official before the conclusion of the Tournament of any questions according to the rules of play.
